Large Antique Japanese Zuijin Dolls- Ministers of the Left and Right -Signed -  Sa-daijin is Minister of the Left and the more powerful of the two, U-daijin is inister of the Right, (together called Zuijin)- One portrayed young, the other depicted as an old man; both in Court attire, the two seated figures in matching costumes of blue and gray brocades, prominent bib and fringed panel wearing hats, each carrying a set of bows, with arrows on his back, one with a lacquered sword, and seated on black lacquered stools on black lacquered pedestals. The older man has sculpted age wrinkles and light rose complexion, white hair and beard, the younger man with a white complexion, black inset hair and beard, wooden feet.    Signature on the base of the younger man. Condition: Overall very good as would be commensurate with age; some fraying and loss of material on shoulder of older man, and sleeves on both, wear to arrows and hair.

A Japanese Copper Mengei `Shoto’ (Portable Stove) for warming sake and Box, 19th c.-  Signed - The copper pot open to one side, housing the fire box and water-jacket, a hinged top encasing the place for the tokkuri to sit while warming, the body chased with an allover foliate motif, fitting into a covered black lacquered box with copper carrying handle.  A very unique and interesting item!  Condition: Very good, as would be commensurate with age; nice patina.

Horizontal Oban Tate-e Japanese Woodblock Prints Kuniteru -  1851-1853 - Kanedon Chushingura - Act. X - Amakawa-ya sumika (At the Dwelling of Amakawaya) - the loyalty of Amakawaya Gihei  tested, as he stands on the crate of the Ronin. Signed: Ichiyusai Kuniteru ga.  Good color, nice bleedthrough, not backed; margins intact; soft paper, slightly wrinkled - not noticeable.  A good Ronin print.

XI - Ronin storming Moranao’s mansion illuminated by the glow of a full moon on the white snow; one of Kira’s guards being slain by the Ronin.  Signed: Ichiyusai Kuniteru ga;  Censor : seal: Murata, Kinugasa.  Good color, nice bleedthrough; soft paper not backed; margins intact, slightly wrinkled, not noticeable.  Frame beautifully.   Nice Ronin Print.

Gorgeous Antique Japanese Lacquered Wood and Kutani or Satsuma Porcelain Hairpin (Kogai) -  in two pieces divided by a bone band, which fit together forming  the fastening bar, the large ends of porcelain skillfully and colorfully decorated with hand-painted floral and patterned gilt roundels.  Unsigned. Condition: Excellent,  as would be commensurate with age and gentle use.

A Good Sentoku Dragon Yatate - Meiji/Taisho Period -  with rich brown patina, the long tubular moulded handle notched on the top, the sides with a tiny circular pattern representing the tongue, terminating in the hinged mouth of a dragon which opens to the inkwell and receptacle for the brush. Unsigned.  Condition: Very, very good as would be commensurate with age and use; a couple of small dents at the handle end which could be original to the piece. Some residue present on the bottom from an old sticker.  A nice addition to any Collection.
