LARGE ANTIQUE JAPANESE MUSHA RETAINER/STANDARD BEARER DOLL

Large Antique Japanese Musha Retainer/Standard Bearer Doll - 19th c. - The faithful servant shown kneeling on one knee, wearing a brocade uniform and Jingasa (Conical Hat), silk-laced segmented armour and raffia sandals and holding a banner; a lacquered sword neatly tucked in his sash; His wood hands protected and has silk ties at the wrists. His shoulders and upper arms protected by plated guards fitted with decorative metal ends, which hang a little below his elbows laced with green silk.; his chest and back protected with body armour fastened with rivets. His head is gofun with black silk hair. Condition: Good, as would be commensurate with age; an age crack running from his hairline on his right side to just above the left eyebrow and can be seen in the photos; only two plated guards present to the rear side; some scratches to the head and face; some deterioration to the fabric on the arms; his hair is original, but slightly messy; the Jingasa may not be original to the doll. It displays beautifully and will add to any Collection!

UNUSUAL NTIQUE JAPANESE KAKEJIKU (HANGING SCROLL Walking Dead Throwing Beans - Meiji 39, 1907
Antique Japanese Hanging Scroll (Kakejiku) - `WALKING DEAD THROWING BEANS' - Meiji 39- Dec. 06, 1907 - The unique scroll hand-painted in soft colors on paper - Six skeletons throwing beans with a lengthly inscription and Collector's seals. Wood Jikusai (Roller Ends). Condition: Very good commensurate with age and use; some wrinkles present; some flaking of the paper mounting at the top, none of which disturbs the integrity of the piece. It's a 'special' scroll that would add to any Collection and it displays beautifully!

PAIR ANTIQUE JAPANESE SHOKUDAI (CANDLE STANDS)
Pair of Antique Japanese Shokudai (Candle Stands) - 1910-1920 - Very pleasing octagonal shape with carved/pierced bases, and nice woodgrain. Condition: Very good as would be commensurate with age and use, the tip of the carved section of the base on one candle stand is missing, but in no way disturbs the integrity of the piece. They are heavy, weighing approx. 3 lbs. unpacked, and display beautifully. They would add to any Collection and could also be used as stands for a Kabuto or Jingasa.

ANTIQUE JAPANESE WOOD AND LACQUER OBENTO BOX (PICNIC BOX)
Antique Japanese Wood and Lacquer Obento Box (Picnic Box) with Warabite Carrying Handle and Sliding Door - The wood box fitted with a decorative sliding door, opening to reveal six green lacquer stacked boxes with red lacquer interiors and black lacquer bottoms, four compartmented with lids and the two bottom fitted to warm the contents. Condition: Very good as would be commensurate with age and use; some scrapes and scuffs to the corners of the box; one back corner with some wood missing, that in no way disturbs the integrity of the piece. The interior boxes are all in very good condition as would be commensurate with age and use, with minor scratches present. It has an unidentified mark on the bottom of the box. It will add to any Collection.
